Join Gioconda for a workshop that begins by looking into the history of yoga and the origins of philosophy that are at its roots. We’ll bring this history to life with an introduction to chanting mantras from a few of the significant texts of the time periods we cover. From the time period of the Upanishads we step into the teaching of the “koshas,” a map to navigate our multi-layered experience, and guide to explore more of the depth of our being. Learn to use this “map” to guide yourself, or your students, through these layers of experience both on and off the mat. The session will include movement, breath-work, meditation, and Yoga Nidra. You will need a journal and a pen, comfortable clothes to breathe and move in, and an open and curious mindset. Handouts will be provided electronically for you to reference during our session and for your continued studies.
