Advanced Yin Yoga Training: A Deeper Dive
September 26th & 27th
with Gioconda Parker and featuring guest teacher Sam Johnson
Do you love all things Yin? Are you ready to take your Yin practice and teaching to a deeper level? We are thrilled to announce an advanced yin yoga training—and we’re calling it a deeper dive, as we’ll be following the threads of four subjects to a deeper level of study and conversation.
This weekend training will allow you to practice and teach with a new depth of insight and informed creativity. Our studies will focus on the science of connective tissues, incorporating intelligent movement into yin yoga practices, nervous system regulation and co-regulation through the practice of yin and using principles of somatic awareness to hold space for practice.
Yin Yoga & Holding Space (with Gioconda): Learn a handful of inter-connected somatic awareness tools that will allow you to hold a safe and helpful space for yourself and your yin yoga students. These tools are also great life skills, and you’ll find they support good relationships and self-care as well.
Yin Yoga & Nervous System Regulation (with Gioconda): Learn more about how our nervous system functions, and how to effectively facilitation co-regulation and self-regulation. Attune to individual and group energies to better respond to the needs of individuals and groups.
Yin Yoga, Connective Tissue and Myofascial Release (with Sam Johnson): The yin yoga practice isn’t about stretching—-it’s about supporting the health and healing of our connective tissues. Learn some of the science behind this theory and more about how important connective tissue is to nourishing movement and longevity. Add a whole new skill set and layer to your yin yoga practice and teaching by incorporating myofascial release (MFR) work. You’ll learn how this work relates to yin in general, AND learn how to sequence this technique seamlessly and intelligently with poses.
Yin Yoga & Functional Movement (with Sam Johnson): Learn to create sequences with intelligent transitions, range of motion exercises and rhythmic movement to help facilitate better joint mobility, easier nervous system regulation and a resilient body.
