Journey into Ahimsa: Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Wellbeing

In this immersive three-hour workshop, we explore Ahimsa—non-harm—as both a philosophical principle and a lived experience. Where East meets West, we bridge yogic wisdom with modern neuroscience to uncover the hidden barriers to practicing Ahimsa in daily life. Through guided asana, breathwork, and discussion, we’ll examine how nervous system regulation plays a crucial role in cultivating compassion—for ourselves and others. Learn how early conditioning, stress responses, and habitual patterns can interfere with non-harm, and discover practical tools to shift towards a more embodied, sustainable practice of Ahimsa.

Your Guides: Gioconda Parker and Brenda Lee Gauthier

Gia and Brenda bring together a rich and complementary blend of expertise, seamlessly integrating Eastern wisdom with Western therapeutic approaches. Gia’s deep-rooted background in yoga, Ayurveda, and spiritual psychology, combined with her decades of experience as a teacher and mentor, offers a profound understanding of yogic philosophy and embodied practice. Her extensive studies in the Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita, and tantric texts provide a strong foundation for exploring the Yamas as a lived experience rather than just an intellectual concept. She brings a depth of insight into the energetic and philosophical aspects of the practice, guiding students toward self-inquiry, presence, and connection.

Brenda, on the other hand, brings a therapeutic perspective grounded in neuroscience, neural somatic repatterning, and trauma recovery. With over a decade of experience in complex trauma, addiction recovery, and nervous system regulation, she understands how unconscious protective patterns shape our behaviors and relationships. Her expertise in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, and brain-based healing allows her to bridge ancient yogic teachings with modern psychological insight, making the Yamas not just philosophical ideals but practical tools for healing and transformation.

Together, Gia and Brenda create an experience that is both deeply rooted in tradition and highly relevant to modern life. Their shared belief in the innate capacity for healing and self-discovery forms the heart of their teaching, while their distinct yet complementary perspectives ensure a holistic approach. This workshop on the Yamas will not only explore the ethical foundations of yoga but also provide embodied practices, nervous system awareness, and real-world applications to integrate these principles into daily life. By weaving together yogic philosophy, somatic wisdom, and lived experience, Gia and Brenda offer a truly comprehensive and transformative journey.
